Friesian Valley Cottages are set in a lovely location in the rural hamlet of Mawla just two miles from the north Cornwall coast and beaches of Portreath and Porthtowan with some good pubs and restaurants, also just 5 minutes from Redruth and close to the A30 its easy to visit all of the attractions and areas of beauty Cornwall has to offer.
The five cottages were originally converted from farm buildings and an old milking parlour and form an attractive courtyard with lawned areas that provide the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing drink, eating dinner or just soaking up the Cornish sun. The cottages have been completely refurbished and modernised ready for 2020. An ideal base if you're looking for a cycling holiday as we have the Cornish coast to coast cycle route on our doorstep, an 11 mile route from Portreath to Devoran following an old mineral tramway and with cycle hire close by. All the cottages are supplied with information packs that include some great days out for the family with offers and discounts so you can make the most out of your holiday come rain or shine and we are always available to give you any local information you may need and can always recommend good local pubs and restaurants.

There are also some communal areas you can use such as our games room with books, games,darts and a coin operated pool table, a laundry with coin/token operated washing machine and large tumble dryer and the large lawned area by the car park is ideal for playing ball games or for exercising your dog.

I would highly recommend Friesian valley cottages. Nicky was very proactive in messaging me a week or so in advance to ask if there was anything she could do to help - she gave us various recommendations ranging from days out to restaurants and they were all spot on. So many great places accessible within a short drive, so clean, very child friendly as the garden area in front is quite enclosed and they loved the games room. I don’t think the photos do the space justice - the kitchen/diner is a great size (Maple) and the bedrooms perfect for what you need on holiday. We’d love to return and stay for longer. Thank you Nicky!  10/10

"What a fantastic place to stay. Can’t say enough good things about the accommodation and location. The owners were really hands on and couldn’t make us feel more welcome, even allowed us to check in early. Everything you could want and more, instantly felt like a home from home. Extra special attention to detail that you don’t often see. Such an amazing place, we have travelled extensively abroad but have never felt so relaxed on holiday. We will definitely visit again.
